Folacta (L-Methylfolate) a breakthrough in folate supplementation. Folacta is the most bioavailable, active form of folate. Conversion of folic acid into active folate is frequently disrupted by genetic factors, age-related problems and metabolic obstacles. Approximately 10% of the general population (homozygous TT) lack the enzymes needed to receive any benefit from folic acid. Up to 40% of adults are affected by genetic flaws that limit the amount of folic acid converted to the active folate that neutralizes homocysteine. Transformation of folic acid into active folate falls off after ingesting 200 mcg, and is saturated at doses in the region of 400 mcg. Active folate is nearly 7 times more bioavailable than ordinary folic acid. Studies show that women who take folic acid (Folacta) before conception and during the first trimester may reduce their risk of having children with neural tube defects by 72 - 100%.

  • Folacta (L-Methylfolate) is essential for fetal growth and gene expression, helping produce and maintain new cells.
  • Folacta (L-Methylfolate) during early pregnancy seem to reduce the risk of isolated cleft lip by about a third.
  • Folacta (L-Methylfolate) seem even more of a wonder drug than anyone suspected they may also reduce the risk of osteoporosis.
  • Folacta (L-Methylfolate) may be helpful in rheumatoid arthritis patients on methotrexate.
  • Folacta (L-Methylfolate) appears to lower the risk of hemorrhagic strokes.
  • Folacta (L-Methylfolate) lower blood levels of homocysteine, which in turn is a thought to be a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases.
  • Older individuals may benefit from folic acid (Folacta) as a way to reduce the risk of dementia.
  • Folacta (L-Methylfolate) may be helpful in those who have chronic inflammatory skin diseases, such as moderate to severe psoriasis.
